What's ICT?

It's easy today to get buried in acronyms. IT [information technology] and ICT [information and communications technology] get bandied around on a regular basis, sometimes interchangeably. So what's the difference, and why can it be important?
Essentially, IT is contained by ICT as an umbrella term. It's a term associated with computer science: digital technology, software, hardware. ICT adds 'communications' to sum up your daily dealings with phones computers, audiovisual apparatus, satellite systems as well as the internet.

ICT additionally covers tasks working like video conferencing, data storage and distance learning [refsearchcio]. If you are referring to the larger picture of  all of the elements which make up your IT and communications environment it's a useful term than IT.

Therefore ICT stresses
- The purpose of communications that are unified [ refW1 ]. Computers are incorporated with telecommunications, audiovisual along with other systems that enable users to obtain, transmit store and manipulate advice [refW2]
It is a massive area, frequently broken down into particular circumstances of ICT for example schooling, health libraries or care
